Embroderies from India
Embroideries are a medium for art and communication since centuries. Embroideries can be hand stitched on in numerous disparate materials.
As in most of the rest of the world, also in the Indian continent, embroideries have been used to story-tell rituals, recall gods or to simply describe local life stories .

Batik printing
Batik method of dyeing in which patterned areas are covered with wax so they will not receive the colour. The method is used mainly on cottons and in the traditional colours of blue, brown, and red.

Shibori printing
Shibori is a traditional Japanese manual resist dyeing technique. In Japan, the earliest known example of cloth dyed with a shibori technique dates from the 8th century; it is among the goods donated by the Emperor Shōmu to the Tōdai-ji inNara.

Block dabu printing
The word Dabu, comes from ‘Dabaana’ meaning press, a block printing technique of using mud as a resist, to create patterns. It was traditionall developed on indigo dyed fabric. With its main centers in Rajasthan, Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh.

Raw silk
"Raw Silk" is a pure silk fabric, also known as Dupion. It is made by using uneven threads in warp and weave, that produces a tightly woven fabric with a rough look.
